7 Farmhouse Bedroom Decor Ideas in a Guest Suite
I love creating a relaxing space for our guests to feel at home when they visit. Today, I’m sharing some of the details from our modern farmhouse guest bedroom! To see the 7 Farmhouse Bedroom Decor Ideas I used to style our guest bedroom, keep reading!
1. Shiplap Accent Wall
I wanted this guest bedroom to be bright and airy, while still feeling cozy and welcoming. To accomplish this, I knew for sure the space needed a Joanna Gaines inspired white shiplap accent wall.
My handy husband and I decided to tackle this DIY project ourselves, and I’m so happy with how it turned out! We completed the entire project, including two coats of paint in a weekend. It was a busy few days, but the wood accent wall and the fresh white paint was the perfect start to this guest bedroom makeover.

2. Rustic Metal Bed Frame
This farmhouse-style bedroom just wouldn’t be the same without the gorgeous farmhouse-style metal bed frame √.
Update: Over the last few years, this farmhouse-style metal bed frame has gotten a ton of use, and held up very well! We still love it, and highly recommend it!
I love the rustic yet classic feel that the bed frame adds to the room.
3. Linen Bedding
Linen is a classic-looking textile that can give any room an extra subtle hint of farmhouse style.
For the bedding, I went with a linen comforter set from Target (we have the matching duvet cover set in our master bedroom!). I then paired it with a lightweight grey blanket for some extra warmth on chilly Montana nights.

I topped the bedding off with a cozy knit throw for a ‘lived-in’ look. This burnt orange colored throw pillow was the perfect pop of color to bring a little life to this room.
4. Farmhouse Style Rug
To give the room some added texture I picked up this beautiful eco-friendly rug from World Market. The classic colors and the geometric pattern fit perfectly with the farmhouse-style look in the room.
I was surprised to read that it is actually made from recycled plastic bottles and hand woven in India! It’s surprisingly soft to walk on, and the best part is, it doesn’t shed! And don’t get me started on those fringed edges (obsessed!)
I made the DIY yarn wall hanging for this room to give the walls some more texture and pull in more of the burn orange color. I love how such a simple piece can bring so much interest to a space.
5. Throw Pillows
I had such a fun time picking out the throw pillows for this farmhouse bedroom. I mean, what girl doesn’t love throw pillows? My poor husband doesn’t understand the point of them and views them as obstacles he has to fight in order to get into bed every night (insert eye-rolling emoji here). Sorry honey, but a farmhouse bed just isn’t complete without them!
To keep with the modern farmhouse theme, I looked for throw pillows that would go perfectly with the linen bedding, metal bed frame, and all the other farmhouse style decor.
The cute fox throw pillow is from Target, as well as the grey fringe pillow. They were both clearance finds, but I also love this one √.
The striped lumbar pillow is an indoor/outdoor pillow from World Market and I picked up the ‘Thankful’ pillow last fall at Kohl’s.
6. Farmhouse Style Nightstands
The nightstands are definitely a favorite of mine! They’re also from Target, and I love how they fit in with the farmhouse bedroom vibe. They seem to add the perfect amount of warmth to the room. I styled them mainly with items I already had, as well as a few thrift store/clearance aisle finds.
I love that they have two drawers so guests have a place to store their small belongings during their stay.
7. Farmhouse Style Decor
Currently at the foot of the bed is this old jewelry storage vanity that used to be my grandmother’s. Although I love this piece, ideally I would like to get a dresser for this room so that guests have a place to store their clothes. For now, the vanity will have to do until I can find the right dresser for the space.
